Latina Empowerment Alliance (“LEA,” “we,” “us”) is a U.S.-based, tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and organized under the laws of Texas.

This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) is intended to explain the privacy practices of LEA concerning your access and use of this website, www.latinaempowermentalliance.org (the “Site”), and provide you, the person accessing or using the Site and any person helping you access or use this Site (collectively, “you” or “your”), with an overview of the following:

  1. The categories of information LEA collects about you through the Site;

  2. How LEA collects such information;

  3. How LEA uses such information;

  4. Who will have access to such information; and

  5. LEA’s security measures for protecting such information.

This Policy only applies to information collected through the Site.

By accessing or using the Site, you are automatically accepting and agreeing to the most-recent version of both this Privacy Policy and the Site’s Terms of Use (which governs your access and use of the Site), and your continuing access or use of the Site reaffirms your acceptance and agreement in each instance.

LEA may collect personal and non-personal information about you through the Site. The term “personal information” means information that would allow someone to contact you physically or online, including your name, address, and e-mail address. The term “non-personal information” means any information other than personal information that LEA may collect from you.

The categories of personal and non-personal information that LEA collects from you through the Site may include your:

  • Name (first, last, and/or middle);

  • Title;

  • Address (country);

  • E-mail address;

  • Organization or affiliation;

  • Information to schedule a virtual engagement;

  • Feedback, comments, or other submitted content; and/or

  • Interaction with the Site (We may receive information about you when you interact with the Site. We may also receive information from the mobile phone, tablet, computer, or other device that you use to access the Site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your domain and/or IP address, geo-location, device, browser type, telephone number, mobile carrier, operating system, language, access times and history, the referring or existing website address, browser history, information relating to the content you access or visit, images or other content that you post, content that you download, communications on the Site with other users, posts in public forums, and information from cookies or other technology. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. Such information may also be collected through third-party analytics and webmaster tools, including Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools.)

 

2. How Information Is Collected Through the Site

 

LEA may collect personal and non-personal information from you whenever it asks you for such information, such as, for example, when you fill out a form, subscribe to a newsletter or other service, or answer an online survey or questionnaire.

In addition, if you or a third party send LEA a comment, message, or other communication (such as, by way of example only, e-mail, letter, fax, phone call, or voice message) about you or your activities on the Site, then LEA may collect any personal or non-personal information provided therein or therewith.

By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge and agree in each instance that you are giving LEA permission to monitor or otherwise track your activities on the Site, and that LEA may use tracking, data aggregation, and data analysis technologies in any e-mails it sends you.

LEA also uses third-party analytics and webmaster tools, including Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools, to collect and analyze information about how users interact with the Site. These tools may collect information such as IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, access times, and other usage data through cookies or similar technologies.

3. Use of Information Collected Through the Site

 

LEA may use your personal and non-personal information in a variety of ways, such as, for example, to:

  • Fulfill your requests;

  • Send you communications such as e-mails and responses to your inquiries;

  • Provide you with information about LEA;

  • Provide you with information about third-party businesses, products, and services;

  • Improve the Site’s content and features;

  • Improve LEA’s services;

  • Improve LEA’s marketing efforts;

  • Analyze traffic to the Site;

  • Analyze user behavior and activity on the Site;

  • Conduct research and measurement activities;

  • Monitor activities on the Site;

  • Protect LEA’s rights and property; and/or

  • Protect the rights and property of others.
     

Information collected through Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools is used solely to monitor and analyze Site performance, understand visitor behavior, improve content and functionality, and support search engine optimization efforts.

LEA also reserves the right to use your personal and non-personal information when required by applicable law, court order, or other governmental authority, or when LEA believes in good faith that such use is necessary or advisable to protect LEA, users of the Site, or others.

4. Sharing of Information Collected Through the Site

 

Except as provided in this Policy, LEA does not disclose or sell any non-public personal information about you except as permitted by law or required by legal process.

In connection with the use of Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools, certain information may be processed by Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation acting as third-party service providers. Such information is processed in accordance with their respective privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.

LEA may also disclose information with affiliates, related programs, or trusted entities or individuals for purposes related to the Site’s objectives, including review of assistance requests and volunteer screening. Such parties are required to process information in accordance with this Policy and appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

5. Disclaimer: Third-Party Advertisements, Websites, and Platforms

 

The Site and communications sent through the Site may contain links to third-party websites and platforms. LEA is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of such third parties and disclaims liability arising from their use.

6. Security

 

LEA uses reasonable procedures to protect information against unauthorized access and disclosure, including the use of HTTPS.

However, no security system is perfect. Information transmitted through the Internet may be intercepted or accessed without authorization, and LEA cannot guarantee absolute security.

Payment processing is handled by third-party vendors subject to their own privacy and security policies. LEA encourages you to review those policies directly.

7. Cookies / Tracking Technologies

 

LEA may use cookies, log files, clear gifs, web beacons, or similar technologies, including those used by Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools, to collect usage and performance data about the Site.

These technologies may be used to:

  • Provide personalized content

  • Remember user preferences

  • Count return visits

  • Compile aggregate usage statistics

  • Assess Site effectiveness

  • Improve services and features

You may opt out of receiving LEA emails by using the “unsubscribe” link in any email communication. Information shared in public areas may remain visible after account deletion.

9. Modifications of This Policy

 

LEA may modify this Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on the Site and will be effective as of the stated effective date. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

 

10. Severability

 

If any provision of this Policy is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect and be reformed to reflect the original intent to the fullest extent permitted by law.
